Just in time for Valentine's Day comes the third chapter of 

the hit film franchise “Magic Mike,” the musical comedy “Magic Mike's Last 

Dance." The creative team behind the first film, received critical acclaim. 

and audiences alike came together to make the magic again: Channing Tatum 

reprises his role as Mike Lane and Steven Soderbergh return to the helm with a 

screenplay by Reid Carolin, who also wrote the first two films. and play together 

Tatum as Salma Hayek Pinault ("House of Gucci," "The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard"). "Magic" Mike Lane (Tatum) returns to the stage after a long hiatus, 

after a failed deal, leaving him broke and taking 

bartending concerts in Florida. For what he hopes is one last hurrah, Mike heads over 

to London with a wealthy socialite (Hayek Pinault) who lures him with an offer that 

he can't refuse ... and a program all of him. With everything at stake, once Mike 

find out what's really on his mind and the list of sexy new dancers

The producers of the film are Nick Wechsler, Gregory Jacobs, Tatum, Caroline 

Peter Kiernan. Julie M. Anderson is the executive producer. They also star opposite Tatum and Hayek Pinault in Ayub Khan Din (“Ackley 

Bridge”), newcomer Jemelia George, Juliette Motamed (“We Are Lady Parts”) 

and Vicki Pepperdine (“Johnny English Strikes Back”).

Soderbergh's behind-the-scenes creative team includes the production 

stylist Pat Campbell ("The bastard son and the devil himself"), costume designer 

Christopher Peterson (“The Irishman”) and music supervisor Season Kent (“KIMI,” 

“Let Them All Talk”), choreographed by Alison Faulk and Luke Broadlick, both 

part of the "Magic Mike" franchise. A Warner Bros. Pictures slideshow, "Magic Mike's Last Dance," slips in 

cinemas only in North America on February 10, 2023, and beginning internationally

Great ending to a wild trilogy! I am proud to be bisexual and autistic; I'm quite weird. Anyway, I'm sure this will get mixed reviews/opinions because it's more of a drama than a comedy with some funny parts and some frustrating parts if that negates your great experience. Lots of emotion, beautiful cinematography, sensuality, and charm! Channing Tatum and Salma Hayek are outstanding along with the rest of the amazing cast. While the film has some flaws, it is better than the previous one. I would say Steven Soderbergh is a great director. I especially love older films than him.

My wife and I saw it on opening night at the theater. Surprisingly it was a decent crowd with mostly couples. The beginning was ok, and the end was quite good, but the middle part was absolutely boring! It will almost put you to sleep. There was no chemistry, there was no character development, and there wasn't a whole lot going on. Unlike the first two, Mike had relationships with his dance partners, but this one didn't. The dance partners were too old to be a striptease so it wasn't going to work, but they could have come up with something better. This will likely be the end of this one, as I'm assuming it'll get a thumbs down, all around.

It's been nearly eight years since the release of Magic Mike XXL, which, in my opinion, gave the story the closure it needed. I enjoyed the first two movies, minus the cheesy stripper dance because they gave you insight into the lives these men lead rather than just focusing on the striptease aspect. It was surprisingly fascinating. With Magic Mike's Last Dance, he does almost the opposite, focusing solely on Channing Tatum and Salma Hayek's fake romance storyline as an excuse for Magic Mike to put on a final show, turning the film into a complete fantasy. . Now, don't get me wrong. Normally I love Salma Hayek, but her performance in this film was terrible. I didn't believe his character for a second and some of the lines he delivers are just embarrassing to watch. He wasn't buying her and Channing Tatum's romance at all. Sometimes it was almost painful. Everyone else does a useful job, but when you have contacts who don't have chemistry with each other, it can be a deal breaker. Unfortunately, due to the focal point chosen for the story, the dance also suffers. We get a pretty decent show in the end, but there's only one more dance scene in the movie. The other dance pieces are just that. But because they show them the lineup to put the show together. Not a complete dance number from that first dance to the beginning, to the end.
 
Speaking of dance, none of the dancers have any kind of personality or play any role in the film other than being there as a dancer. We then return to the central plot theme which focuses on what is wrong. They didn't even bring in any of the original dancers to dance or play any roles in the film, other than a group video chat cameo for 2 minutes. The movie also takes place with Mike constantly dodging his phone calls but they do nothing about it and that was probably my biggest disappointment.
 
The only good thing I can say is that the direction is well done. The camera angles, effects, and editing work in the films are flattering, but that's not enough to save it from being a bad film.
 
Overall I couldn't recommend it. The first two are diamonds in the rough, and this is a rock that sinks to the bottom of the ocean. If it weren't for Steven Soderbergh's stiff direction, I'd rate it lower. 1.5 bombs are 5.

What exactly is this R rating for?

It's safe to say that this is Magic Mike's worst movie. He's boring most of the time and plays too safe. Women are more naked in a burlesque show than these men. Why exactly is it rated R? Today's music videos are more R-rated than that. I'd say the funniest scene was the lap dance that Channing Tatum gives to Salma Hayek, but other than that, most of the movie is just his whining about the show they're about to put on and when the show finally comes, it doesn't it is SO. almost as exciting as it should be. I know many will say this but I wish this movie had been a Step-Up movie and they just dropped Magic Mike in the sequel. Compared to the other two, it wasn't a fun ride. Also, a side note when discussing the different types of men that "women want" a CEO who pays women more than men? I thought the goal was to supposedly be equal? And how about a man with a puppy! Men always have dogs, how about a man who puts down the seat or does the dishes? Unlike the other two though, I'll never watch this one again.

4. None of the main characters work in this film. It's all flat. 5. Hardly anything works in this damn movie. Good things about the movie 

 

1. The ultimate show. 2. Dance of the water duo in the final show. Overall, it's one of the worst movies of 2023 so far. 1 star for the final show and another 1 star for the aquatic part of the final show. 5 out of 7 found it helpful. Was this review helpful?
